National Truck Spares carries an extensive range of reconditioned engines. All engines are built to exacting standards and exceed ISO AS4182 -1994 standards. All machining and assembly is done in-house with state of the art engine reconditioning equipment.Assembly parts:National Truck Spares only use O.E.M (Original Equipment Manufacturers) parts and all reconditioned engines have the following parts replaced.Pistons and liners, piston rings, gudgeon pins, conrod bushes, main bearings, big end bearings, thrust washers, cam bearings, and all seals and gaskets.All reconditioned engines come with a new water pump.What is a reconditioned engine?Reconditioned is a loosely used term.Some dealers and resellers describe any engine that has had minor repairs such as rings and bearings as being rebuilt or reconditioned. At National Truck Spares the following is our minimum standard that all reconditioned engines are built to:Engine block: Engine blocks are chemically cleaned in a hot acid tank. Crankshaft tunnels are checked for trueness and line bored if necessary. Parent bores are checked for cracks, ovality and taper. Cylinder decks are checked for straightness and surface ground if required and cam bearings replaced where applicable.Crankshaft: Crankshafts are tested for cracks and straightness. Then ground or polished as required.Conrods: All conrods are closed, honed and aligned. New gudgeon pin bushes are fitted.Camshaft & Followers: Camshafts are crack tested, straightness tested and re-profiled as required. All cam followers are re-profiled or replaced.Oil Pump: Overhauled or replaced with an O.E.M pump.Cylinder Head: Cylinder heads are crack and pressure tested, straightness tested and reconditioned as required.Timing Gear & Rocker Gear: All timing gear bushes are inspected and replaced as required. Rockershafts are inspected and replaced if required. Rocker bushes are inspected and replaced if necessary. Rocker faces are inspected and resurfaced or replaced.
